If you are an animal lover who would love to contribute for a good cause, visit Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica. With the aim to release them back into the forest, the Sloth Sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates sloths. The proceeds from their tours, inn, and gift shop, are used to fund the Sanctuary’s sloth-rescue efforts.
If your international holiday package is handled by a travel agency they will do the planning for you. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the trip. From Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose, the Sanctuary is a four-hour drive. From Puerto Limon you can even book a taxi for $30. You’re almost there when you see the yellow sloth-crossing sign.
Many of the sloths you will find in the sanctuary are babies that are orphaned. They are provided all the care at the hospital’s N.I.C.U. Some of the sloths that come to the Sanctuary are injured adults.
