Yelagiri is not a popular and established tourist spot as Ooty or Kodai but with the efforts of the district administration it has slowly started developing as a tourist destination. Yelagiri is famous for its lake Punganoor. A boat ride gets you a glimpse of the surrounding hills and lets you enjoy the fantastic weather. Yelagiri is also a wonderful place for trekking. Swamimalai is the highest point in Yelagiri and is the best for trekking. Paragliding and rock climbing are other interesting sport activities that draw a lot of adventure enthusiasts to this place. The nearby Jalagamparai waterfalls and the Telescope observatory are also worth visiting.
