How to Spend Days in New York City

New York City has tonnes of amazing places to visit. Restaurants to eat, bars to drink, monuments, museums, parks… the list is endless. You will take months to cover it all. We list a few must-see places.

Statue of Liberty:389348
To see the Statue of Liberty get in line for the ferry from Battery Park early enough or else you will end up waiting for a long time. The joint effort of America and France, the Statue of Liberty is a stunning sight up close. If you have no time to wait, take the free Staten Island ferry. From here you can take photos of the statue.

Battery Park:
At Battery Park you can listen to street performers. It is the best place for relaxing and people-watching. You can also walk around the ruins of the old fort that once upon a time guarded the city.

Wall Street:
The bull is the main attraction here. You can click a few lovely pictures with the famous bull and also visit the Wall Street.

Federal Hall:
Federal Hall is situated just across the street from the NY Stock Exchange (NYSE). It was built in 1700 and was the first capitol building of the US. This is where George Washington took his oath of office. You won’t take much time to cover the building.

Trinity Church:
Trinity Church is one of the oldest churches in America built in gothic style. The highlight of the church is the colonial graveyard. It is here where you’ll find many famous Americans buried.

World Trade Center & 9/11 Memorial and Museum:
Here you will get a lot of information about the 9/11 terrorist attacks. From the Freedom Tower you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. The park commemorating the victims of the attacks is at the base of the tower. It also houses a huge museum.

 Brooklyn Bridge:
You can just walk into Brooklyn through the Brooklyn Bridge. It won’t take more than half an hour. You can click a lot of lovely pictures. The best time to visit this place is at night, and see downtown Manhattan all lit up.

City Hall:
City Hall is an architectural marvel. It also has a beautiful little park that’s frequented by office workers during breaks. Take a tour to see the landmarked rotunda, Governor’s Room, city council chamber, and the City Hall Portrait Collection.

Empire State Building:
You cannot visit New York City and miss its historical monument. The 1930s art deco interior is beautiful, and the view from the top is breathtaking. Visit the Empire State Building early morning or during lunchtime to avoid the rush.

Grand Central Terminal:
It is a historic train station, which was torn down in 1975. Thanks to Jacqueline Kennedy for raising money for its preservation. There are free historical tours on Wednesdays.

Times Square:
Times Square is always packed with tourists. There are pedestrian areas where you can sit and hang out. This is the best place to shop, eat or see a show. If you love to just hang out and people-watch, Times Square is the place to be.

Central Park:
This is the perfect place to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The entry is free. So you can hang around as much as you please. There are walkways, bike lanes, lakes to row in, and a zoo. If you are visiting the park during summer you can even enjoy concerts and theatre productions free of cost. You will also find excellent museums in and around the Central Park.
